BULLYING :)

When i was younger there was this girl named Yasmin, who lived on the corner of my block. Sometimes i would feel bad for her and let her come over and play and sometimes i just wouldn't care. One day in the summer i had a lot of my friends over and we were playing in the backyard, Yasmin came walking down the back street and i didn't want her over. I told her to go home, because nobody wanted to play with a fat sweaty girl in the sun. She ran back down the back street crying home to her mom. Her and her mom came down to my house and tried to embarrass me in front of my friends by saying, not to come down to her house to play in her yard, and to go in the house and get my mom. I told her nobody plays at her house because its dirty inside and out , and then went in the house to get my mom. Thinking my mom would be on her side she explained to my mom what happen, my mom then said that if i didn't want to have Yasmin as company at my house that she wasn't allowed over. My mom and Yasmin's mom exchanged words , and my mom sent her on her way. My friends and I began to laugh at her when my mom went in the house, and continued laughing. Now that I'm looking back i should've let her play in my yard being that all the other kids on the block were at my house. I feel like now it was unnecessary. I think people like Doodle are mean because it makes them feel good, or maybe even because it gives them a laugh.

Reviewing "The Alchemist"

1. Read the epilogue of the Alchemist.2. In a new blog post on your blog, briefly summarize the book (identify title, author, type of story, etc,), discuss whether you liked it or not and why (be specific), and whether someone else should read it, skip it, or burn it.

The title of the book that our class has just read was called The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This is the type of story that explains the way of life to people. I think this story was okay, it's not really the kind of books that I'm into though. I would recommend this book to people that think reading is fun, and also to people that are interested in these types of books.

my thoughts for today

Today what’s on my mind is a lot! I don’t understand some things like, how people get mad at the people that care about them and help them. I also get bothered by the people that have nothing to do with your life, but try to include themselves, them self. I get really annoyed fast, so that’s why my temper is the way it is. I trust not too many people, if anyone. I have a lot going on in my life, and at times as big as my family is and has expanded, I still feel like I deal with stuff all by myself. I feel like a lot of things shouldn’t have happened the way it has, but I guess everything happens for a reason. I miss a lot of things in my life and want to accomplish a lot too. In time everything will be over and done, and hopefully all in the right way. I pray for the right things, and God answers me I just try not to ask for a lot. Last and final thoughts ; F A C T: I don’t care to know your opinion I don’t care, I live my life not yours !

background music

First paragraph: Describe the scene (the circumstances, what happens during the scene, the characters involved, the setting, etc.)

Second paragraph: discuss why you like the scene (Can you relate to it in any way? Does it show something about the characters involved? Is it funny, inspiring, or sad? Does it make you feel good? ...)

Third paragraph: think about a song that would make for good background music to the scene. Explain the song (what it sounds like, who it's by, what it's about, and why it would work well with this part of The Odyssey. Include a link to the lyrics and/or a streamable version or video of the song in your post. You can even embed the song/video if you want to get fancy. After you've this, visit one of your classmates pages (available on the student directory page). Read what they wrote about their favorite scene and the music that should go with it, and leave them a comment (50 words minimum) about what they wrote.

The scene that I have chosen is the scene when Odysseus is speaking to his wife but she doesn't know that it is him. The servant/ housekeeper had just got done washing his feet. She knew that it was him but she promised him that she wouldn't blow his cover. She's telling him how much she misses him, and how she wishes he would come back. Odysseus kept his mouth closed though, so he didn't blow his cover. She told him that if he doesn't come back by tomorrow , that she'd have to remarry to someone else. Odysseus was very devastated.

I like this scene because of the way it happened. I cant believe she sat in her husbands face and didn't know that it was him. I understand that he was in a cover , so nobody would be able to recognize him, but for his own wife not to recognize him that's sad. Her not being able to recognize him is also a time indicator , as to how long he's really been gone. This also gave Odysseus a chance to really understand how his wife feels about him. For her to open up her heart to a complete stranger, and it be about him is amazing to him probably. I think this scene is kind of sad for him to sit her and have to listen to his wife say how much she misses him , and cant wait for him to come home. He also has to hear the news , that if he doesn't come back by tomorrow she was going to remarry. That has to be heartbreaking.

The background music that i have chosen for this scene is Brian McKnight 6 months 8 days 12 hours. I chose this song because it fits in so perfectly. She's trying to get over him because hes been gone so long that she think something probably happen to him and hes long gone. At the same time though , she wants him so bad that shed do anything to have him there with her. This song could also be coming from his point of view, asking her all these questions about missing him.

Brian McKnight 6 months 8 days 12 hours
Ooh, ooh Do you ever think about me? Do you ever cry yourself to sleep In the middle of the night when you're awake, Are you calling out for me? Do you ever reminisce? I can't believe I'm acting like this I know it's crazy How I still can feel your kiss
It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours Since you went away I miss you so much and I don't know what to say I should be over you I should know better but it's just not the case It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours Since you went away
Do you ever ask about me? Do your friends still tell you what to do? Every time the phone rings, Do you wish it was me calling you? Do you still feel the same? Or has time put out the flame? I miss you Is everything okay?
It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours Since you went away I miss you so much and I don't know what to say I should be over you I should know better but it's just not the case It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours Since you went away
It's hard enough just passing the time When I can't seem to get you off my mind And where is the good in goodbye? Tell me why, tell me why
It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours Since you went away I miss you so much and I don't know what to say I should be over you I should know better but it's just not the case It's been six months, eight days, twelve hours Since you went away
Sing it for me Ooh, ooh

PRIVACY

Is it ever OK to invade some one's privacy -for a parent to snoop, go through a child's text messages, etc. -for a concerned friend to look into an other's personal life?Explain why it is or is not OK to invade another person's privacy. Back up your argument with specifics. *200-word minimum

I believe it is not okay to invade someones privacy. Going threw peoples things means you can't either trust them doing things themselves, or you just don't trust them period. Personal space is a big issue these days, especially with the way things are in the world. Sometimes people believe it is okay to snoop with internet situations, and dating due to the way things go today with people. As for a friend being concerned about another friends personal life, at certain circumstances its okay, and at other times its not. When you feel as though your friend is in danger and/or going to be in trouble, that's when you intervene. In other words invading peoples privacy is not okay, but only under certain circumstances, so be wise on the times you choose to snoop !

. Corporal punishment can consist of anything from being forced to sit in a corner, to being spanked, to being whipped or stretched on the rack.
The United States executes criminals all the time, and we've recently tortured terrorism suspects. Do you think that capital and corporal punishment work, or do they just cause people to be angrier and more violent? Explain.
*Post your response on your blog, not this one.

The Torture and execution in Shakespeare's England was brutal. For example if you were a peeping tom , one of your eyes would be taken out. If you were a thief , one of your hands would be chopped off. The punishment back then was very horrible, and not something people think to do today. During Capital Punishment it was done in public for everyone to see , and also for entertainment. Capital Punishment constist of ducking , the wheel, tredeem, the french rack, and public humiliation. Ducking is when someone that committed a crime, is tied down to a chair and dunked into a lake to sit and dround. The wheel is when you're placed in between a wheel that has spikes and iron bars, each bar comes closer and closer to you crushing your body piecce by piece. If you're not dead by time they're finish and most likely you're not, they finish you off by sending a single blow of the wheel to your heart. Tredeem is being hung by your neck , and being cut open by your Corporal Punishment was also done while in public for everyone to see the punishment for the littlest crimes.
